James studied at University of Dundee and Hochschule Mainz, qualifying with a distinction. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academies: New Contemporaries and the RSA Annual Exhibition. Before starting his own practice, James worked for practices in Henley-on-Thames and London. He lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and their two small children.
